Hair is our natural crown. It shapes our face and is our constant companion, so when it’s not healthy and vibrant, it can take a lot away from our overall appearance. That’s why we have to make sure to give our hair a lot of TLC. Sometimes shampooing and conditioning just isn’t enough to keep our luscious locks in tip top shape, and that’s when these easy do it yourself hair masks come in handy!

Banana Mask
Not only will this work wonders on your hair, it also lets you put to use those pesky overripe bananas that you didn’t get a chance to eat. To make this mask you need to blend 1 or 2 overripe bananas (until smooth) with 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon olive oil, and 1 tablespoon honey. This mixture is high in antioxidants, potassium, and vitamins A, E, and C, and will help heal dry and damaged hair by moisturizing and strengthening the hair follicles. It’ll also help to regulate oil and prevent split ends, restoring vitality and health to your locks. Just slather on the mixture and leave it for a minimum of five minutes before rinsing with warm water. To make sure you got all of it out, run a comb through your hair and then do a second rinse just to be safe.

Strawberry Mask
This mask is great for people with oily hair. Strawberries help reduce production of sebum and thus help control scalp oil. They are also great for balancing out the scalp’s pH levels and are loaded with vitamin C, which will leave your hair healthy and shiny! Grab a handful (about 7) strawberries and blend together with 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. Once you’ve got that blended, apply the mixture evenly through wet hair and leave it for about 10 minutes before rinsing. Added benefit, you’ll smell like delicious strawberries all day!

Avocado Mask
This mask will deeply condition your hair and make it smooth and soft. Avocados are a great source of vitamin E and protein, which work to strengthen your locks, and they’re also a great antibacterial agent, ensuring that your scalp and hair are protected from damaging bacteria. For this mask, you simply have to blend together the contents of 1 fully ripe small avocado with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and ¼ cup of milk. You want the mask to have a creamy texture, and then you want to massage the mask onto your hair starting at the roots and working downward to the ends. Leave it on for about 15 minutes and then rinse thoroughly.
